This month Link was awarded a special commendation from Ethiopia’s Wolaita Zone for our significant contribution to girls’ education in the area. At a conference attended by senior representatives from the Education Bureau, school leaders and local stakeholders, Link received a certificate, a cup and Wolaita traditional cloth for its work.
Officials praised Link’s work for increasing access, quality and equity in education for the people of Wolaita as well as the region at large. In particular, they noted that girls’ attendance, academic achievements and self-confidence in class had all improved.
The conference chair noted that Link’s work has contributed to reducing the burdens of the Wolaita Zone education system by aligning its interventions to those of the Ministry of Education itself, and extended his gratitude to Link Education Ethiopia on behalf of the Wolaita people.
I can confirm that the STAGES project has contributed greatly to the education work by filling the gaps of the government
